Early spring hat
Cranial circumference: 52 cm;
Necessary materials:
70 g fir Teetee Primavera (75% merino wool, 25% silk, 115 m/50 g);
Andre circular no. 3.5 and no. 4;
Knit density: 21 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Explanation knitting:
96 stitches are mounted on needle no. 3.5. The stitches are closed in a circle and knitted as follows:
Row 1: All front stitches;
Row 2: All purl stitches.
Rows 1 and 2 are repeated 7 more times.
In the next front row add uniformly 16 stitches as follows: *5 front stitches, 1 front eye from the front and behind the next eye*. Repeat *-* until the end of the row = 112 stitches.
Next, it will be knitted with needle no. 4 in the following way: 60 stitches front, knit row 1 of the scheme, 31 front stitches.
It will be knitted in this way, until all the rows of the scheme will be knitted.
Then, will knit front all stitches front and back, all the stitches of the pattern in the scheme, until the detail will measure 22 cm from the first row.
Lastly, before the top of the hat is made, the last 2 stitches of the row will knit together front = 111 stitches.
The top of the hat:
Row 1: (2 stitches together front, 1 front eye) x 20, (Purl 2 stitches together, 1 back eye) x 7, (2 stitches together front, 1 front eye) x 10 = 74 stitches.
Row 2-4: Knit stitches knit front, purl stitches are knit back.
Row 5: 2 knit stitches together x 20, 2 stitches together back x 7, 2 knit stitches together x 10 = 37 stitches.
Row 6-7: Knit stitches knit front, purl stitches are knit backside.
Row 8: 2 knit stitches together x 10, 2 stitches together back x 3, 2 knit stitches together x 5, 1 knit stitch = 19 stitches.
Row 9: Knit stitches knit front, purl stitches are knit back.
Row 10: 2 knit stitches together x 5, Purl 2 stitches together, 2 knit stitches together x 3, 1 knit stitch = 10 stitches.
The working thread is cut leaving a longer end. The end of the thread is passed through the 10 remaining stitches, tighten and fix on the back side of the work.
