Cast on 54 stitches on a thread of a contrasting color and knit as follows:
Row 1: 10 stitches lazy stitch, (2 front stitches, 2 purl stitches) x 6, 20 stitches lazy stitch. Edge stitches are included in the pattern, these will be knitted as front stitches in each row.
Row 2: 20 stitches lazy stitch, (2 front stitches, 2 purl stitches) x 6, 10 stitches lazy stitch.
Row 1-2 is repeated 5 more times.
In the next row, the twists will be knitted in the following way: 10 stitches lazy stitch, the next 12 stitches are passed on an auxiliary needle after the work, (2 front stitches, 2 purl stitches) x 3, after which the stitches on the auxiliary needle will be knitted- (2 front stitches, 2 purl stitches) x 3, 20 stitches lazy stitch.
Next, rows 1-2 will be knitted 11 times = 22 rows, in row 23, twists will be knitted, and row 24 will be knitted like row 2.
The 24 rows are repeated until we get the desired length of the scarf.
The contrasting thread is removed and the scarf stitch is made on the open stitches of the edges.
