Good evening, I'm back with thanks for the explanations last time and with a new question: what does it mean to knit in two threads? Thank you very much and I am just at the beginning, other questions may arise along the way. A good evening, I look forward to news.
Hello again, I haven't even actually started working and I'm already stuck. Still reading the directions, I realized that I don't really have the same number of stitches left at the end of the back: 48. I don't know where I'm from, 10+28+10+20+10+28+10=116. And I don't know which are the last 48 stitches that must be left on a helping needle and from which the right front side should be knitted. I apologize if I am too insistent. Thanks in advance for any clarifications.
This jacket is knitted a little differently. Start with the back: 60 stitches. Then add 28 stitches from both sides, which will be for each sleeve. In rows 1-28 you will knit the stitches for the back and for the sleeve.
When you close the 20 stitches in the center, each part will be knitted separately.
They will stay on Andrea helping: 10 stitches from the back, 28 point jersey sleeve, 10 rice stitches - sleeve elastic.
These stitches will continue to be knitted according to the description.
can you tell me how I can make such a jacket for my girl, are 14 years old. I am a beginner.
Health, Alina!
I usually when I adapt a model to a larger size, I proceed as follows:
1. I make a pattern on which I take my measurements.
2. I choose my knitting thread. With the thread in question, I put on Andrea about 10-15 stitches and knit the basic pattern in your case jersey stitch.
After about 10 knitted rows, I measure: Measure in cm length and width, this way I find out how many stitches return to x cm and how many rows return to x cm.
3. I adapt the above measurements according to the pattern and calculate how many stitches to put on Andrea, how many rows can I knit until the sleeve is finished, how many stitches can I close for the neckline etc.
And one more tip: be careful about the thread you use. Pure cotton and wool enter the water, in this case, add 7-10 extra stitches to Andrea. acrylic knitted clothes, mohair loosens over time if they are not lined- cast on Andrea with 7-10 stitches less.
Merino usually keeps its shape and works very well.
If you can't handle it, I'll help you along the way.
Bafta!
Thanks, very much. My daughter and I are beginners, she is crocheting ,me with the knitting. I have never done a project of such a magnitude before. My daughter found this jacket and asked me to try to make it. Is difficult, but with your help ,I want to fulfill his wish. I do not have time,I have three small children, but in the evening I will work.
Now I don't know what yarn to get, I found something similar in color,I send you a link, tell me if it is good in terms of texture and what quantity should be,if I don't accept a recommendation, dearly.
Hello, can you tell me which thread is ideal for knitting a sweater for girls, possibly the company brand …
thank you
To this!
There are knitting yarns specially designed for children. Knitting yarns containing merino wool, cotton are also ideal. I cannot recommend a specific brand or company. I do not advertise on the site for companies in the field.
I knitted this jacket , it is identical to this one, only the color is different, it's pink, beautiful ,
Hello, I really like this plovoras and I would like it for my little girl, but I only know how to crochet! Do you have a crocheted version?? Thanks a lot!!
I don't have the crocheted version. But it's an easy model to knit. If you have basic knowledge of knitting, I don't see where the problem would be. The jacket is knitted with front stitches, From, point rice – the basic elements of knitting.
Hello! Very well explained all models, I tried quite a few. With this one, I think there is a mistake in the bow. if you knit 80 rows, it is huge. Thanks for the models! A beautiful day!
Hello!
The strip of 80 rows is folded side by side, after which the bow is formed. It also depends on the thickness of the wire. If the thread is thick, the bow will be bigger.
Good evening!!!
I have a question:
How do you add the 28 stitches? (procedure…)
Thanks.
You mount them on Andrea and include them in the knitting of the jacket.
I followed the instructions from this jacket model and it turned out great. I fit in the size and material. Thanks!
With pleasure!
Hello,
Can you tell me please, what is the stitch/cm ratio for the jacket. I saw that it starts with 60 stitches, but how much does it mean in centimeters?? Thanks.
Hi Mirela!
The jacket is knitted in two strands. 2 stitches = 1 cm, and 60 stitches = 30 cm.
That's how I appreciated it too, but I wasn't really sure. Thank you very much for the promptness.
To this! I love what you do. I have a one-year-old girl. I would really like to knit for her. It is obvious that the jacket is too big for her. But I would really like to do it. But I don't know how I should reduce the stitches. Can you give me some advice?,please. Thanks!
Hello Mihaela!
Knit a sample of 10 stitches and 10 rows – with the thread with which you will make the jacket. Measure it and see how many cm it measures.
After, measure the circumference of the hips and divide it by two. Depending on the sample and number of cm, you determine the number of stitches.
Example:
Let's say that the sample of 10 stitches measures 2 cm. Hip circumference/2 = 20 cm. Number of stitches = 20 cmx10 stitches / 2 cm = 100 stitches.
After, during the work, visually determine no. of eyes, row, cm, etc.
Thanks a lot!
To this! I'm coming back again. I knit only one row as in 1-28?
Not, 28 rows. It's the portion from the armpit, until almost the cut of the neck. You make the portion knitted with rice stitch around the neck, after these 28 rows.
Thank you very much! Sorry if I'm being pushy.
Hello,
if you can help me, where the work begins? I see that you are very kind and I hope that I can count on you to try this slightly bigger jacket(for 5 years).
Hello!
Knitting starts from the back. When you get to cutting the sleeve, add stitches for the sleeves on both sides. Knit the back and the sleeves at the same time. Cut the neck, then knit the left and right front pairs simultaneously with the sleeves.
I don't understand the explanations. We knit well with n*5 needles ? I started but it seems to me that it will be very big for a back . We climb well 60 m ? I think the translation is not good. Can you send them to me in French? ? What is Andrea ?
