Bolero with leaf pattern
Necessary materials:
-100 g for blue angora ram (60% acrylic, 40% mohair, 100g/500m);
– andre no. 2,5 or 3.
The density of the work: 36 stitches x 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
I took the basic model from here.
Description of the work:
The bolero will be knitted from top to bottom as a single detail.
It is mounted on Andrea 121 stitches and se knitting 2 cm elastic 1x 1, after which 1 openwork row will be knitted (2 stitches together face, 1 life) and one row all purl stitches.
In the following rows, the leaf pattern will be knitted (12 funze) like this, (all even rows will be purl rows):
Row 1: 1 edge stitch, 4 front stitches, 1 life, 1 eye girl, 1 life, 4 front stitches, 1 purl stitch... at the end of the row 4 front stitches ( the purl stitch that is between 2 reports is not knitted), 1 edge stitch = 145 stitches.
Row 3: 1 edge stitch, 1 point lazy, 2 stitches together face to the left, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 1 eye girl, 1 life, 1 eye girl, 1 life, 1 eye girl, 1 life, 2 front stitches, 2 stitches together face to the right, 1 point lazy, 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch. = 169 stitches.
Row 5: 1 edge stitch, 2 stitches lazy point, 2 stitches together face to the left, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 1 eye girl, 1 life,2 front stitches, 1 life, 2 front stitches, 2 stitches together face to the right, 2 stitches lazy point, 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch. = 193 stitches.
Row 7: 1 edge stitch, 3 stitches lazy point , 2 stitches together face to the left, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 3 stitches face, 1 life, 1 eye girl, 1 life,3 stitches face, 1 life, 2 front stitches, 2 stitches together face to the right, 3 stitches lazy point, 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch. = 217 stitches.
Row 9: 1 edge stitch, 4 stitches lazy stitch , 2 stitches together face to the left, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 4 front stitches, 1 life, 1 eye girl, 1 life,4 front stitches, 1 life, 2 front stitches, 2 stitches together face to the right, 4 stitches lazy stitch, 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch. = 241 stitches.
Row 11: 1 edge stitch, 5 stitches lazy point , 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left, 7 stitches face, 2 stitches together face to the right,1 life, 2 front stitches, 2 stitches together face to the right, 1 life, 5 stitches lazy point, 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch.
Row 13: 1 edge stitch, 6 stitches lazy stitch ,1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left, 5 stitches face, 2 stitches together face to the right,1 life, 2 front stitches, 2 stitches together face to the right, 1 life, 6 stitches lazy stitch , 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch.
Row 15: 1 edge stitch, 7 stitches lazy stitch ,1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left, 3 stitches face, 2 stitches together face to the right,1 life, 2 front stitches, 2 stitches together face to the right, 1 life, 7 stitches lazy stitch , 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch.
Row 17: 1 edge stitch, 8 stitches lazy stitch , 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left, 1 eye girl, 2 stitches together face to the right,1 life, 2 front stitches, 2 stitches together face to the right, 1 life, 8 stitches lazy stitch, 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch.
Row 19: 1 edge stitch, 9 stitches lazy stitch , 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left, 2 front stitches, 1 life, 3 stitches together front,1 life, 2 front stitches, 2 stitches together face to the right, 1 life, 9 stitches lazy stitch , 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch.
Row 21: 1 edge stitch, 10 stitches lazy point, 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left,5 stitches face, 2 stitches together face to the right, 1 life, 10 stitches lazy point , 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch.
Row 23: 1 edge stitch, 11 stitches in lazy stitch , 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left,3 stitches face, 2 stitches together face to the right, 1 life, 11 stitches in lazy stitch , 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch.
Row 25: 1 edge stitch, 12 stitches in lazy stitch, 1 life, 2 stitches together face to the left,1 eye girl, 2 stitches together face to the right, 1 life, 12 stitches in lazy stitch, 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch.
Row 27: 1 edge stitch, 13 stitches in lazy stitch, 1 life, 3 stitches together face 1 jeteu, 13 stitches in lazy stitch, 1 ochi two… , 1 edge stitch.
After that, 6-8 rows of lazy stitch and an openwork row will be knitted.
In the next row we will divide the stitches in the following way: 1 edge stitch, 42 stitches right front side, 2 stitches raglan line (it can be marked with a thread of contrasting color), 36 stitches sleeve, 2 stitches raglan line, 75 stitches on the back, 2 stitches raglan line, 36 stitches sleeve, 2 stitches raglan line, 42 stitches front left side.
4 rows of jersey point will be knitted, and in each row facing from both sides of the raglan line, 1 jeteu is made (addition of eyes). From the stitches reserved for the back part, first of all, 3 stitches are decreased at equal intervals.
Then, the basic model will be knitted 6 rows, adding in the front rows 1 jeteu from both sides of the raglan lines. Careful! On the front side, the basic pattern must be knitted symmetrically.
In row 7 of the basic model, the stitches are divided as follows: 1 edge stitch, 48 stitches right front side, 48 stitches sleeve, 84 back stitches, 48 stitches sleeve, 48 stitches left side front, 1 edge stitch.
The stitches for the sleeves are passed on the helper stitches, and the stitches reserved for the front and back parts will be knitted as a detail.
The diamonds in the basic pattern will be distributed like a chessboard.
After the first report (8 rows rhombus pattern) decreases will be made on the front sides to round the edges.
The decreases will be made after and before the edge stitch in every 2nd row (front row) like this: 1 stitch x 7 each, 2 stitches x 3 each, 3 stitches x 2 each.
The remaining eyes close.
For the sleeve: The basic model will be knitted 8 rows, 2 rows of lazy stitch, 1 rand junk, 2 rows of lazy stitch , after which the eyes close.
finishing: It is mounted on the andrea on the edge of the mesh work (even number). Knit 4 rows of jersey stitch, 1 rand junk, 4 rows of jersey stitch. Fold the knitted edge towards the back, until the openwork row and sew carefully without deforming the creases.

For a bolero of 6-8 months, 8 leaves would be needed. A leaf is composed of 9 stitches + 1 purl stitch between the leaves. You would need 81 stitches to begin with. Knit according to the description in the article.
If you knit according to the scheme in row 12, 14, 16, 18 you do not knit the 2 stitches together before and after the jete.
The additions of stitches are done on account of the jets in the center. Don't be afraid when you will have more eyes on Andrea.
Otherwise knit according to the description in the article. It's nothing complicated.

Lazy point = the stitches are knitted purl in the front rows and in the purl rows. The lazy point is that back eye.

1. Measure the circumference from the base of the neck.
2. with the yarn you want to make the bolero, knit a sample of 10 stitches. Measure it lengthwise and widthwise to find out how many stitches and rows fit in one cm.
3. multiply the cm from the base of the neck by the number of stitches that return to 1 cm- 5 or 7 stitches.
Then divide the number of stitches by the ratio for the leaves. You must have an even number of leaves. The relationship would be something like this: Total number of stitches = 2 edge stitches+odd number of leaves x 10+9 (last leaf report).
If, for example, you have 141 stitches, divide them as follows:1 edge stitch, 13 leaves + the back eye between them (13×10)+9(leaf 14)+ 1 edge stitch.

Each leaf is separated by 1 purl stitch. The exception is the last leaf in the row, after which the back stitch no longer follows but automatically the edge stitch.
